HELLO! I’M CARLY.

Hello!

I am currently a senior Journalism major at Ithaca College with minors in Education, Media Literacy and Women’s and Gender studies. 

Over the past few years in the Roy H. Park School of Communication I have developed a wide range of skills in writing, editing, digital marketing and graphic design.
 

It has been very rewarding to incorporate my education studies into my journalism and media endeavors. At Ithaca Week, an online publication by Ithaca College students, I served as an Education Reporter. Here I wrote, researched and interviewed for articles about issues in local K-12 and higher ed. I also discuss these topics on my personal blog.

I am especially interested in how to implement media literacy curriculum into K-12 classrooms and how social media impacts youth development. I aim to one day blend my passion for media and education to become a journalism educator and digital literacy advocate.
